Integration 4.0 means linking, not replicating, data

“Integrate the Future” is PROSTEP’s maxim, to which we remain committed. We have been involved with product data integration for over 25 years and during this time we have provided numerous big-name companies with advice and support when designing their integration-compatible PLM landscapes. Based on this experience, we have come to the conclusion that the current challenges posed by the digital transformation require a new approach to integration: linking data, not replicating it, is the order of the day.

PROSTEP makes the OpenPDM architecture cloud-ready

Many companies are considering moving their PLM and ERP systems or parts of them to the cloud. To pave the way for them into the clouds, PROSTEP is enabling the use of its world’s leading integration platform OpenPDM in hybrid cloud scenarios through a modular architecture and the use of microservices.

Theegarten-Pactec plans to speed up development with PLM

Theegarten-Pactec is the world’s leading manufacturer of continuous-motion packaging machines for confectionery, food and non-food products. In order to secure its market position, the Dresden-based company has decided to use PLM to speed up the development of new machines and its order-oriented design work. PROSTEP will be advising the company on the optimization of its PLM processes, requirements analysis and selection of the system.

Last year, Professor Dr. Jens C. Göbel took over as successor to Professor Martin Eigner as the head of the Institute for Virtual Product Engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern. He has already been concerned with PLM-related topics for many years, both at research level and with regard to industrial applications. In an interview for the PROSTEP Newsletter, he explained what the future of PLM will look like.

OpenCLM Provides Transparency in the Product Development Process

Monolithic system architectures with static interfaces do not do justice to the dynamics in the development of smart networked products. PROSTEP has therefore developed a new integration approach that makes it possible to directly link the data of the various disciplines and domains instead of replicating them in a PLM cockpit. OpenCLM makes the status of interdisciplinary development projects easier to understand.

PROSTEP Presents Integration Platform for Shipbuilding

Recently, PROSTEP officially launched OpenPDM SHIP, an integration platform optimized specifically for the maritime industry. It connects shipbuilding-specific development systems via standardized connectors with common PDM/PLM and ERP systems as well as with mechanical CAD applications, thus creating the prerequisite for end-to-end digital processes in shipbuilding and shipping.

PROSTEP Presents OpenPDM Ship Connector for Shipconstructor

Darmstadt, September 2019 – The shipbuilding experts from PROSTEP, a PLM consulting and software company, will be presenting two new integration scenarios based on their open integration platform OpenPDM Ship at the ShipConstructor EMEA Conference 2019. OpenPDM Ship facilitates the integration of SSI’s Autodesk-based ship development solution ShipConstructor with other CAD and PDM systems. The SSI User Conference is being held from 30 September to 2 October 2019 at the Marriott Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal.

Darmstadt, August 2019 – PROSTEP AG will be presenting its new OpenPDM Ship integration platform to a wider audience for the first time at the 19th International Conference on Computer Applications in Shipbuilding (ICCAS) in Rotterdam. OpenPDM Ship uses standardized connectors to connect shipbuilding-specific development platforms with all the leading PDM/PLM and ERP systems as well as mechanical CAD systems, thus creating the prerequisites for end-to-end digital processes in the shipbuilding and shipping industries.
