Integration

PROSTEP and Intland are working together on ALM integration

PROSTEP is collaborating with Intland Software, the company that developed the application lifecycle management (ALM) platform codebeamer, on developing a new OpenPDM connector. It will make it possible for Intland customers to easily and quickly connect their ALM solution to PLM systems or other enterprise applications using our integration platform OpenPDM.

Downstream processes in shipbuilding require early PDM-ERP integration

Downstream processes in shipbuilding require early and bidirectional integration between the PDM and ERP systems used in product development, production planning and production. This was one of the key messages of the third episode of our PROSTEP SHIPBUILDING PLM INSIGHTS webinar series, in which we presented different PDM-ERP integration scenarios to participants.

Autstal PROSTEP

OpenPDM supports PLM integration at AUSTAL shipyard

AUSTAL, one of the world’s leading shipyards for high-speed vessels, is currently modernizing its IT landscape. After the Australian shipbuilder defined its PLM strategy and roadmap together with PROSTEP, the two partners launched a project to develop AUSTAL’s digital enterprise platform based on PROSTEP’s Integration platform OpenPDM in June 2021. The objective of the project is to achieve a seamless flow of information between the enterprise data management systems such as PDM/PLM, ERP, data warehouse (DWH) and PPS.

PLM ERP MES Integration

Bill of Materials (BOM) as a foundation for PLM ERP MES Integration

Added Value for PLM, MES, ERP Integration
Bill of material should be the connection point for traceability during core integrating between PLM, MES, and ERP. Marrying these systems facilitates data sharing for process management initiatives like lean manufacturing, cost management, resource allocation, and just-in-time inventory management. Each system within the enterprise contributes to the development of a product and requires that accurate relationships exist in support of the digital thread.

PROSTEP Digitalization PLM

Digitalization Makes PLM a Top Priority

Many companies have recognized the leading role of PLM for their digitalization initiatives and are faced with the question of whether their existing system landscape is suitable for the challenges of digital transformation. Before
they decide on a new PLM application, they should first gain clarity about what PLM capabilities they will need in
the future. PROSTEP helps them analyze their PLM maturity level and define a sustainable PLM strategy.

Getting in shape for the journey ahead

Getting in Shape for the Journey Ahead

Many companies are facing up to the challenge of adjusting
their evolved IT infrastructures to put them on the right course
for Industry 4.0. Karsten Theis, member of the Executive Board
of PROSTEP AG, investigates a number of scenarios in this context.

OpenPDM 9.2

OpenPDM 9.2 with numerous new connectors

PROSTEP is increasing the pace of development of its PLM integration platform OpenPDM and will in future deliver a new release every six months. Version 9.2 will be on the roadmap at the beginning of February 2021. In addition to support for the current releases of the PLM systems Windchill, Teamcenter and 3DEXPERIENCE, it offers new connectors to GIT, Jira and to OSLC-enabled systems.

PROSTEP Digital Twin

Digital Twin Does Not Come Alone

Are the digital twin and the results of digital prototyping initiatives the same thing? Is “3D master” just another name for the digital twin? And by the way: What role do investments in a company’s own PLM structure play? We are, after all, talking about figures in the tens of millions. Good questions and even better answers from MARTIN STRIETZEL from PROSTEP AG (Darmstadt).

KUKA PROSTEP Migration and Integration

Clean ERP/PLM Migration with the “Data Washing Machine” at KUKA

In one fell swoop, the robotics and automation specialist KUKA has migrated its SAP installation, introduced Teamcenter as its new PLM system and reorganized the entire engineering-to-order process. Crucial to the project’s success were the soft PLM migration, during which the legacy and new system coexisted for a short period, and the consistent cleansing of the data, which KUKA undertook with the assistance of PROSTEP AG. PROSTEP also accompanied KUKA during the changeover to the current Teamcenter version.
