PTC ThingWorx Integration Solutions from PROSTEP

PROSTEP, one of the leading PLM consulting and software houses and PLM vendor PTC are stepping up their collaboration involving the integration of the digital and physical product worlds. PROSTEP has developed three preconfigured OpenPDM CONNECT solutions for connecting PTC’s IoT platform ThingWorx to the PLM systems 3D EXPERIENCE, Teamcenter and SAP PLM on the basis of its OpenPDM technology. The solutions enable digital product information to be linked with the operating data of the real product, which converge on the IoT platform. PROSTEP will also support the new ThingWorx Orchestration integration framework, which is slated for launch at the end of the year together with ThingWorx Release 8.4.

Create a 3D PDF with 3D PDF Converter

How does 3D PDF Converter allow you to create 3D PDFs?

The biggest challenge manufacturer’s face today is the ability to efficiently share CAD data (design intent) across the enterprise. It’s estimated that 90% of CAD is consumed outside of design departments. Numerous downstream departments and users must access CAD, include sales, customers, suppliers, service departments, engineering sub-contractors and manufacturing assemblies.

PROSTEP Meyer Werft

One Platform for Cruise Ships

The Meyer Werft Group, which specializes in the construction of cruise ships, has adopted the platform concept in order to develop and produce a range of ship designs based on a common technical platform. The native CAD conversion performed by PROSTEP was a key factor involved in the reuse of design data from Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, at the MeyerTurku shipyard in Finland.

A Blueprint for a Successful PLM Migration

Do you have the right strategy and tools for your PLM Migration?

Since the economy of today spans the globe, you must work harder to stay ahead of your competition. Your product development processes need to be lean, and you need to bring the right people and processes together. If you’re working on a legacy PLM, chances are your data is siloed, spanning different disciplines. This makes collaboration difficult. For instance, creating a comprehensive bill-of-materials (BOM) from information across different disciplines isn’t easy. And you’ve decided a new PLM will remove these challenges. Your next step is the PLM migration.
