PROSTEP Team

PROSTEP moves into new office in Böblingen

PROSTEP AG is consolidating the activities carried out by its various offices in the Stuttgart area in a new office in Böblingen. The main reasons for choosing the new, state-of-the-art business premises were its attractive location, good transport links, short distances to the carmaker Mercedes-Benz and its proximity to PROSTEP’s subsidiary BHC, which is located in the same building.

PROSTEP Growth

PROSTEP expects strong growth this year

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, PROSTEP continued to grow and hire additional staff during the course of the last business year. We expect an even stronger surge in growth in 2022. We are urgently looking for new employees and partners who can help us turn our ambitious plans for growth into action and provide us with support in implementation projects.

PROSTEP Presentations at VVM Funding Project’s Mid-term Event

How can automated driving systems be reliably tested and safely put on the road? This is the subject of the project “Verification & Validation Methods” (VVM), funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection. At the mid-term event on March 15 and 16 participants will present initial results. Project partner PROSTEP will also be represented at the online event with two presentations. The PROSTEP speakers will present the demonstrator of a traceability solution (TRACY) that supports the verification and validation process. It is developed as part of the project and is freely available to all participants for the duration of the event.

PROSTEP Study on the Interaction between PLM and ALM

How do manufacturers of software-driven products strike a balance between PLM and ALM? This question was examined in a joint study conducted by PROSTEP and PROSTEP’s subsidiary BHC for which companies from a number of different industries were surveyed. A key finding of the study is that the level of integration between product and application lifecycle management is currently insufficient to ensure end-to-end digitalization and traceability.

Secure data exchange from the Active Workspace client

PROSTEP AG has begun delivering the new version 9.3 of its data exchange platform OpenDXM GlobalX. It not only makes it easier for system administrators to do their job but also provides greater security thanks to two-factor authentication. PROSTEP has also expanded its extensive range of PDM/PLM integrations to include an integration to the Active Workspace client from Siemens Digital Industries Software.

Kautex OpenPDM Integration to Polarion

Kautex Tests New OpenPDM Integration to Polarion

PROSTEP AG has expanded its PLM integration platform OpenPDM to include a new connector to Polarion, the application lifecycle management (ALM) system from Siemens Digital Industries Software. The software and consulting company is thus improving capabilities for integrating ALM systems, which are becoming increasingly important as a result of the high proportion of software in products. The first customer to evaluate the new connector will be the automotive supplier Kautex. The company’s aim is to use the OpenPDM platform to synchronize ALM data with its development partners.

PROSTEP AMbrace Partnership

Strategic partnership for the 3D printing of spare parts

PROSTEP has entered into a strategic partnership with the Dutch technology company AMbrace, which is developing a service platform for 3D printing of spare parts. AMbrace will use PROSTEP’s OpenDXM GlobalX data exchange platform to make 3D print data available in combination with SAMPL technology for the tamper-proof exchange of 3D printing licenses.

OpenPDM 9.3 provides even more links to the ALM and ERP world

With version 9.3, PROSTEP will this year be presenting the second major release of its OpenPDM platform for PLM integration, migration and collaboration. The main focus of its further development was, on the one hand, placed on improving connectivity to the ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) and ERP world and, on the other hand, enhancing the user-friendliness of the interfaces and reporting functions. Another highlight is the fact that OpenPDM is now even easier to deploy in cloud scenarios.

OpenCLM

PROSTEP presents OpenCLM: THE solution for the Digital Thread

Companies in the manufacturing industry face a double challenge when it comes to developing smart products and systems: They need to make the complexity of projects more manageable and at the same time be agile in their response to new requirements. PROSTEP provides them with a new tool for this purpose – OpenCLM, a lean, smart web application for generating digital threads. It ensures data transparency across domain boundaries and makes it possible for everyone involved to trace deliverables and decisions.

Adient Aerospace Leverages PROSTEP’s Data Exchange Solution OpenDXM GlobalX in the Cloud

Cloud-based applications can be used “as-is” without high initial investments, which makes them particularly interesting for start-ups or newly founded companies like Adient Aerospace. The manufacturer of aircraft seats, a joint venture between car seat manufacturer Adient and aircraft manufacturer The Boeing Company, recently began using PROSTEP’s leading data exchange platform OpenDXM GlobalX as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model from the cloud.
