PROSTEP sponsors large PLM events from Dassault, PTC and Siemens in the USA

By Joseph Lopez

In order to maintain vendor neutrality, you often have to be able to multi-task. PROSTEP recently sponsored three major PLM events in the US, using its Mars Rover demonstrator to present complex PLM topics. Events included Dassault Systèmes’ COExperience 2023 in Miami, PTC LiveWorx in Boston and Siemens Realize Live 2023 in Las Vegas.

As a platinum sponsor of COExperience 2023, PROSTEP, Inc. presented innovative solutions for digital transformation, held several presentations, participated in workshops and used the networking opportunities to strengthen its partnerships within the Dassault Systèmes community. At the opening reception, our North American subsidiary provided cigars with the PROSTEP logo, which were very well received (although not smoked directly).

In his first session, Brian Schouten, Director of Technical Presales, presented a Pratt and Whitney use case that drew a lot of attention from the audience. The global aerospace group used PROSTEP’s OpenPDM standard connectors to implement a federated integration approach and integrate data from Teamcenter and other sources into 3DExperience. In his second presentation, Schouten showed how these 3DExperience integrations can be used to build a digital twin that connects design, development, manufacturing and operations. PROSTEP’s solutions can also be used to export data from various sources and merge them into a PDF-based technical data package, as Jim Markwalder, US Federal Sales and Industry Manager,

PTC  LiveWorx  was another major PLM event that PROSTEP, Inc. attended along with representatives from parent company PROSTEP AG and German PROSTEP subsidiary BHC, which specializes in ALM and PLM consulting for mechatronic and software-driven products has. In the ALM track, BHC conducted an interesting breakout session on the integration of hardware and software development in the digital product creation process, which focused on the Codebeamer software recently acquired by PTC. Julian Weyer and David Whiteney showed how end-to-end systems engineering can reduce the high complexity of combined hardware and software development and discussed steps to synchronize the PLM and ALM tool landscape.

In one of the Ignite Talx, Daniel Wiegand provided an overview of how PROSTEP’s integration, migration and collaboration tools can be perfectly combined with PTC’s Creo and Windchill product families to enable communication of engineering data with the extended enterprise. The PROSTEP solution OpenDXM GlobalX forms the basis for collaboration in engineering. Wiegand showed how Windchill users can implement fully automated, traceable and reliable round-trip communication with external partners.

PROSTEP, Inc. is also represented as a PREMIER PLUS sponsor at Siemens Realize Live 2023 , which is currently taking place in Las Vegas. These numerous partnerships reflect our relentless drive to forge strong relationships within the industry and are a sign of our commitment to further expanding our expertise in PLM integration, migration and collaboration. Our ability to tackle complex PLM problems is underscored by our Mars Rover Demonstrator, a model-based systems engineering testbed that has been demonstrated at various US events.
