With OpenPDM 9.5, PROSTEP has launched a new major release of its world-leading platform for PLM migration, integration and collaboration. In addition to improved performance when importing and exporting PLM structures and documents, it offers even better options for connecting cloud-based PLM and ALM solutions, such as PTC Arena and Jira, with each other.
With the launch of the new version of OpenPDM, PROSTEP is reaffirming its cloud/SaaS strategy, which was introduced when the software architecture was restructured. The integration platform not only makes it possible to connect cloud-based applications, it can itself also be deployed in the cloud – either in PROSTEP’s own cloud or with the cloud provider AWS. Our SaaS application offers a high level of security that is on par with the level of security offered by on-premise solutions. This was made clear by a penetration test performed by external security experts, which the cloud instance passed with flying colors.
The connectors in OpenPDM 9.5 make it possible to export and import PLM structures, including documents, even faster. The performance provided when processing large amounts of data, in particular, has been greatly improved. Thanks to optimized methods for bulk processing, we were able to achieve performance increases of 400 percent and more when reading and writing objects and documents.
We have also expanded the Web Process Monitor to include new monitoring and administration functions that make managing the application even easier. OpenPDM 9.5 makes it possible to connect the latest releases of PLM systems such as PTC Windchill 12.2x, Siemens PLM Teamcenter 14.1.x and Dassault Systémes 3DEXPERIENCE R2022x. The new version also supports the latest software frameworks. It has been available to customers with maintenance contracts since September.
