PROSTEP makes its internal PLM know-how accessible

By Martin Strietzel

All PROSTEP PLM consultants go through an internal PLM training course lasting several weeks, in which they are not only familiarized with the technical basics of product lifecycle management, but also learn how to use consulting methods and PLM systems. We now want to make our concentrated PLM know-how available to customers through special workshops and training courses.

PROSTEP has more systematically systematized the training program for its employees in recent years and combined the various training offers on the subject of PLM in a PLM curriculum. We are proud to be able to offer our employees training and further education that can compete with university and market offerings and also enables them to deepen their methodological skills. Our prospective PLM consultants complete this curriculum as part of their qualification from junior consultant to PLM consultant. On the way to becoming a senior consultant, you will design your own new training content and deepen certain areas of expertise.

With the PLM curriculum, we ensure a high and uniform level of training for our staff and guarantee the optimal processing of consulting projects for our customers. It is an integral part of the PROSTEP Academy, a comprehensive training initiative for young professionals, professionals and managers, which is intended to impart technical and methodological knowledge as well as the ability to lead people. This includes, for example, knowledge of rhetoric, moderation, negotiation and conflict management.

The PLM Curriculum collects everything that PROSTEP offers in terms of internal training, hands-on training, lectures, workshops and webinars on the subject of PLM and makes it available to prospective PLM consultants in a structured, consecutive form . The basic training takes a total of three weeks, the PLM in-depth training and specialization takes another week. However, the participants do not have to consume the content of the individual training blocks “en bloc”, but can access them flexibly depending on their time availability.

The basic training is very comprehensive thematically. In addition to basic PLM training and an overview of the available CAx and PDM systems, it includes lectures and training on the methods of strategy development, process analysis and modeling, as well as an introduction to systems engineering. The participants also learn about SCRUM and agile methods. In PLM in-depth and specialization, you then have the opportunity to deal with requirements management, configuration management and change management as well as special topics such as security and validation.

Thanks to comprehensive internal PLM training, our consultants are also optimally prepared for demanding PLM consulting projects. These projects repeatedly show that medium-sized companies in particular have a great interest in making their employees better familiar with the challenges of digital transformation. That’s why we decided to offer our internal PLM know-how to customers through special workshops and training courses. If you are interested in having your employees trained by us, please contact us.
