Artificial intelligence (AI) promises enormous benefits in a variety of very different application areas. PROSTEP is taking account of this fact with a comprehensive range of consulting services that cover all aspects of AI and AI-based solutions. We place clear focus on the automation and optimization of our customers’ PLM processes with the help of different AI methods.
PROSTEP’s AI offering rests on four pillars. In the context of AI consulting, we have developed an approach that has been tailored to PLM and uses a standardized methodology. The objective is to work with customers to identify the use cases in which they can use AI to achieve the fastest and greatest possible benefit. This can, for example, involve comparing the as-built state of a product or system with the target BOM using image recognition methods.
The second pillar is the use of our extensive integration know-how and our OpenPDM integration platform for AI-compatible preparation of the data in the connected PLM and ALM systems. We are familiar with the interfaces and the semantics of the data, which means that we can prepare them as best possible for AI-assisted analysis and make them available in an AI data hub. Based on this AI data hub, we can then provide our customers with support when implementing other use cases for AI – the third pillar of our AI offering. If necessary, we also develop special AI solutions for them so that they can better exploit the potential of their data.
The fourth pillar of our AI offering is the use of AI to expand the functions that our existing solutions provide in the context of PLM integration, migration and collaboration, data exchange and ensuring end-to-end digitalization. This can, for example, be an AI-based function for analyzing and improving data quality during data migration or for analyzing the relationships between information from different data repositories and making it easier to link the information. We also want to use AI to make the ongoing further development our software products even more efficient.
