The supervisory board of PROSTEP AG has appointed Philipp Hasenäcker, managing director of PROSTEP subsidiary BHC, as a new member of the executive board. Among other things, Hasenäcker will assume responsibility for the consulting business and will support his fellow executive board member Karsten Theis expand the company’s consulting and solutions offering in the direction of software-driven business.
With Hasenäcker’s appointment, PROSTEP is rejuvenating its executive board: The previous chairman of the board, Dr. Bernd Pätzold, who led the PLM consulting and software company for almost 25 years, will retire on July 31, 2023. As part of the realignment of responsibilities following Pätzold’s retirement, Karsten Theis will assume the role of the board’s spokesman.
Hasenäcker was born in Osnabrück and grew up in Paderborn. Prior to launching his career as a freelance consultant in a PLM project at Mercedes-Benz, he studied industrial engineering at the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Since 2016, Hasenäcker has been a partner in and managing director of Bartscher & Hasenäcker Consulting GmbH, headquartered in Böblingen, Germany, which he co-founded. The company specializes in application lifecycle management (ALM) and product lifecycle management (PLM) consulting for mechatronic and software-driven products.
PROSTEP AG acquired a majority shareholding in Bartscher & Hasenäcker Consulting GmbH in early 2019. It is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the PROSTEP Group and carries a new name, BHC. PROSTEP acquired the remaining shares in the consulting company during the course of Hasenäcker’s appointment. Hasenäcker will remain managing director of BHC.
“Philipp Hasenäcker is the perfect candidate to our executive board,” comments Bernd Pätzold, the outgoing Chairman of the Boards, the appointment. “He not only has the necessary management skills but also extensive project experience and know-how when it comes to developing mechatronic and software-driven products. This area is playing an increasingly important role in the context of our customers’ value added. Hasenäcker’s appointment will help us close the gap between ALM and PLM and access new customer groups with our consulting and solutions offering.”
