ImPaKT

Cross-Domain Impact Analysis made easy with System Engineering

The joint project ImPaKT funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has come to a successful conclusion after three years. As part of this project, PROSTEP developed and tested a reference process for cross-domain impact analyses and a reference model for linking the required information. The information to be linked was prepared using artificial intelligence (AI).

OpenCLM 3.0 makes Integration in IT Landscapes even easier

PROSTEP has launched the new version 3.0 of its digital thread solution, OpenCLM, which can now be integrated into customers’ IT landscapes even more easily. The information in the connected IT systems can also be linked with each other with a greater degree of flexibility. Improvements to the dashboards and graph visualization ensure that the information is displayed more clearly and concisely.

Darmstadt, February 2024 – PROSTEP has launched the new version 3.0 of its digital thread solution, OpenCLM, which can now be integrated into customers’ IT landscapes even more easily. The information in the connected IT systems can also be linked with each other with a greater degree of flexibility. Improvements to the dashboards and graph visualization ensure that the information is displayed more clearly and concisely. The new version is now available.

Cross-domain product variant management with OpenCLM

Efficient variant management of smart, connected products is the key to the future success of manufacturing industry. At the same time, the variance in products that include electronics and software places particular demands on variant management as it requires a cross-domain approach. With OpenCLM, PROSTEP offers a solution to this challenge that takes a graph-based approach with integrated data linking.

OpenCLM SET Level Project

Advances in the simulation of highly automated-driving functions

A closing event held a few weeks ago at BMW’s Research and Innovation Center (FIZ) marked the successful conclusion of the publicly funded SET Level project. Key results from the perspective of PROSTEP, which was actively involved in the project, are the definition of an integrative simulation architecture and a reliable simulation process that can be documented in a traceable way with the help of our demonstrator TRACY.

OpenCLM with enhanced impact analysis and maturity monitoring

PROSTEP, a PLM consulting and software company, is launching the new version 1.2 of its OpenCLM solution for end-to-end digitalization and traceability. In addition to enhanced capabilities for cross-domain impact analysis, automated baselining and maturity monitoring, it provides even better support for the cross-enterprise exchange of structural and metadata for simulation. The new version is now available.

PROSTEP creates a link between PTC Arena and Jira

In the middle of last year, a blockchain committee was set up at the VDMA (German Association for Mechanical and Plant Engineering) to intensify the exchange of information on the technology and to investigate possible applications in more detail. The committee is affiliated with the VDMA’s IT department and is open to all member companies interested in blockchain. New use cases are regularly presented at the committee’s meetings. At the last meeting, PROSTEP showed how the technology can be used to prove beyond doubt the authorship of complex CAD models.

PLM Modules

Integration Framework for Business Systems

Product development often consists of siloed domains where development is distributed through various locations and departments. Regardless of industry (aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding, consumer goods, electronics, healthcare, etc.), the product development ecosystem of partners, developers, suppliers, vendors, and more have their own IT systems, procedures, and operations. This presents ongoing challenges for the collaboration of development data across domains. If departments engage an integration framework for system-wide PLM integration, however, companies run more efficiently.

New video shows how OpenCLM communicates data states

A core task of OpenCLM is the communication of data sets across company and domain boundaries. In this new video, we show you how our solution supports the exchange of all necessary information by using neutral formats. This enables OpenCLM to work efficiently across companies in virtual validation processes and thereby prove functional security.
