Darmstadt, August 2019 - PROSTEP AG will be presenting its new OpenPDM Ship integration platform to a wider audience for the first time at the 19th International Conference on Computer Applications in Shipbuilding (ICCAS) in Rotterdam. OpenPDM Ship uses standardized connectors to connect shipbuilding-specific development platforms with all the leading PDM/PLM and ERP systems as well as mechanical CAD systems, thus creating the prerequisites for end-to-end digital processes in the shipbuilding and shipping industries.
The provider of open PLM and IoT solutions CONTACT Software and the PLM consulting and software house PROSTEP have agreed to cooperate more closely. They want to work together on developing collaboration solutions that can be integrated seamlessly in customers' CAD and PLM landscapes. The first step involved the development of PROSTEP’s OpenPDM CIM Database connector, which provides support for different collaboration scenarios. In development alliances, all participants face the challenge of efficiently coordinating their collaboration across various CAx and PLM systems. CONTACT Software and PROSTEP AG are therefore pooling their skills in the areas of IT, processes and methods in order to offer suitable solutions for different collaboration scenarios
Darmstadt, September 2019 - The shipbuilding experts from PROSTEP, a PLM consulting and software company, will be presenting two new integration scenarios based on their open integration platform OpenPDM Ship at the ShipConstructor EMEA Conference 2019. OpenPDM Ship facilitates the integration of SSI's Autodesk-based ship development solution ShipConstructor with other CAD and PDM systems. The SSI User Conference is being held from 30 September to 2 October 2019 at the Marriott Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal.

In the course of digitization, companies are increasingly working with changing partners in development and service together. CONTACT Software and PROSTEP are now providing new collaboration solutions for such networks.
PROSTEP continues to expand the world's leading PLM integration platform OpenPDM by adding standard connectors that allow a wide range of different PLM, ERP and other backend systems to be connected "as-is" and the data to be synchronized or migrated. The company recently created a seamless integration between the cloud PLM solution from Arena Solutions and SAP's ERP system, which is already in productive use at customer sites in the USA.
"Integrate the Future" is PROSTEP's maxim, to which we remain committed. We have been involved with product data integration for over 25 years and during this time we have provided numerous big-name companies with advice and support when designing their integration-compatible PLM landscapes. Based on this experience, we have come to the conclusion that the current challenges posed by the digital transformation require a new approach to integration: linking data, not replicating it, is the order of the day.
PROSTEP and NAPA, the leading maritime software, services and data analysis provider, have successfully completed a joint ship design solution development project for shipbuilder MEYER TURKU. Building on this success, the two companies have signed a formal cooperation agreement to work more closely together in the development of PLM software and CAE interfaces, as well as in the field of PLM consulting.
Ship classification (class approval) normally involves the exchange of numerous large-format drawings between a shipyard and a classification society. In addition to this, Meyer Werft in Papenburg will for the first time also be providing the classification company DNV GL with 3D models of a cruise ship. The digital class approval process is based on PROSTEP's 3D PDF technology.
